A First for the US: Both Roquette Plants Are Managed by Women

Roquette has always worked to put the most qualified employees in change of its plants – regardless of whether those employees are men or women. But as the company has grown, so too, has our commitment to ensuring that all employees – regardless of their gender or any other trait – have an equal chance to take charge.

Building on our diversity by valuing our differences and promoting the sharing of best practices in a multicultural network is critical to enabling the Acting pillar of our Sustainable Development Approach. And that commitment to diversity is paying dividends in the United States. Today, for the first time in our history, both of Roquette’s manufacturing sites in the US will be led by women!

In July 2022, Céline Deneuville will take the reins of our plant in Gurnee, Illinois, in the US after serving as the manager of our newest site, the pea protein plant in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada. A Roquette veteran, Céline also previously managed a manufacturing site for us in France.

And another Roquette veteran, Jennie Rose, became manager in April 2022 of our manufacturing site in Keokuk, Iowa. Jennie has served the Keokuk plant in various process and manufacturing positions over the years. Most recently, she was the production manager for the entire site.

“It’s wonderful to see talented and capable Roquette colleagues in these leading roles,” said Ricardo Grizzo, Head of Core Ingredients for the Americas. “People are at the heart of our strategy. It’s a testament to our commitment to diversity and inclusion that we are able to search for, find, and enable the finest talent we have to take on some of our most important roles. Seeing these two leaders in place shows that our culture and our values are driving our approach to business.”
