The group celebrates the 20th anniversary of its plant in Lianyungang (China). This celebration marks two decades of investment, growth and commitment to offer the best of nature to Chinese customers and consumers.
The Chinese government has launched broad health initiatives as part of a national program, including the ambitious “Healthy China 2030” plan.
Within this framework, over the past 20 years, the Roquette teams have developed an innovative approach through five solutions platforms dedicated to food and health:
sugar Reduction/Replacement, Fiber Enrichment, Plant-based proteins, PUFA (polyunsaturated fatty acid) Enrichment and Texture and Taste improvement.
In 2019, the plant was selected as the leading pilot for upgrading traditional manufacturers to “Intelligent and green enterprises” by both the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People Republic of China and the Ministry of Economics and Finance of France.
And in 2020, the site was certified as a “Green Manufacturer” by the China Starch Industry Association, to recognize Roquette’s energy and district heating project.
On top of that, Roquette is committed to reducing its carbon emissions and has already achieved a 30% reduction since 2019 for this plant.
In parallel, the company is committed to working with the communities around its sites. In China, Roquette has made significant investments to reduce its environmental footprint and strengthen its relationship with local communities.
The company organizes regular “Open Day” activities to invite residents in neighboring communities to visit the plants and to address questions about production safety and environmental impacts.
These developments, and a strong focus on people helped Roquette secure the “Top Employer” certification in China for the past three years.
