Optimization of Load Efficiency
Maximizing the load efficiency of our trucks is a crucial aspect of our strategy.
By optimizing the space used in each vehicle, we have successfully improved our loading efficiency in France by 2%. This enhancement has enabled us to reduce the number of trucks required by 3,000 for the same volume transported in 2024. This not only lowers our logistical costs but also significantly reduces CO2 emissions associated with road transport.
Reduction of Distances
Minimizing the distances traveled between our production sites and clients is another key lever.
By optimizing routes and bringing distribution centers closer to delivery zones, we have reduced distances by 15% in France from 2021 to 2024. This optimization not only decreases our carbon footprint but also improves delivery efficiency and speed.
Alternative Fuels, Multimodal Transport
Adopting alternative fuels and multimodal transport solutions is essential for reducing emissions.
In France, we have transitioned to using Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) for road transport and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for air transport. These initiatives have collectively reduced our CO2 emissions by 5,150 tons in 2024. Additionally, combining various modes of transport, such as road and maritime, allows us to diversify our logistics solutions while further minimizing our environmental impact.
Collaboration with Low-Carbon Transporters
Working with transporters committed to CO2 reduction programs is another critical component of our strategy.
In France, we have collaborated with transporters certified or labeled Eco CO2 for 34% of our transported volume. This collaboration has led to a reduction of 600 tons of CO2 emissions from 2021 to 2024. By participating in programs like Objectif CO2 in France and Lean and Green in Europe, we ensure that our partners share our vision of sustainable transport practices.
