In connection with our sustainable development program life+nature and more specifically our engagement platform PRESERVE the planet, a project aimed at reducing water withdrawals at our Lianyungang site in China was commissioned in May 2024.
This innovative project allows for the recycling of a portion of treated wastewater through an advanced treatment process that notably implements technologies such as membrane bioreactor (MBR) filtration and reverse osmosis. The purified water is then reused to substitute a portion of the site’s water withdrawals. This project significantly reduces water withdrawal and also decreases the site’s water discharges.
Each year, this project will save 700,000 m3 of water, which will significantly contribute to reducing the water impact of the Lianyungang plant and will help achieve our Group’s goal of reducing water withdrawals by 20% by 2030.
